PSDS Membership Information
If you would like to become a member, you can join at the door at any dance. You can also join the morning of the workshop.
PSDS memberships are $20 for a whole year. So.. What do you get for that?
- Well, for starters, you get into the members' workshop for FREE. Four classes for $20 is a total bargain and instantly justifies the cost of the membership.
- In addition, you save $2 at every dance you attend and you participate in the raffle at every dance where you might win a free dance pass.
So.. what is 'The Skinny' anyway??Â
The Skinny is the PSDS newsletter and, along the PSDS Facebook page, one of the best ways to keep up with what's happening on the swing dance scene. The Skinny is sent out prior to dances and, in addition to being a dance reminder, includes information about special events in the area that might interest you. It takes but two minutes to subscribe - first and last name and email address.

SPECIAL NOTICE - PSDS' 20th ANNIVERSARY
The Piedmont Swing Dance Society had planned on hosting our 20th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION on April 25, but due to current circumstances and for the safety of all of us, we still have to wait until times are better to enjoy in-person gatherings and dancing again.
In the meantime, we'd like to extend a special thanks to everyone who has made our organization and our dance community a success over the past TWENTY years!! We have so many people to thank for our success!
We have had many generous and dedicated people:
-serve as volunteers on our Board of Directors;
-help with greeting attendees at the door;
-provide us with our dance venues;
-instruct our lessons and workshops;
-DJ our dances and breaks;
-set-up, clean-up, decorate, and provide treats and activities for our special dances such as our Annual Halloween Bash;
-freely share their photographs and videos of joyful dancing;
-make donations to our cause, and
-assist with online social media, newsletters, and advertising.
We'd like to extend special thanks to the extraordinarily talented bands and musicians who have provided us with LIVE PERFORMANCES at our twice-monthly dances!
We also wish to recognize all those artists, dancers, performers, educators, and innovators in our swing dance era history who have come before us and are part of this great art form.
We look forward to seeing you all on the dance floor and celebrating with you when it is safe again! Be safe, and be well, everyone!
